Independent or More Care Options

The Riverside Senior Living community is set up to accommodate those who are 55+ and are very independent as well as others who may need more care (i.e. daily medication support, adult daily living support). We have two buildings, one on Wilson Street (independent living) and the other on Line Street (more care).

Locally Family Owned and Operated

Riverside Senior Living is locally owned and operated. We are not owned by some faceless out-of-state corporation. The owners are on-site daily and know all of our residents by name. June Hall is well-known in the community and has lived in Decatur for more than 70 years!

A Faith-Based Community

We are a faith-based community with a belief that we are doing God’s work. The owners and staff live by the principle of The Golden Rule.

“In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. – Matthew 7:12

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” – Colossians 3:23-24

Dignity and Respect

A cornerstone of our senior community is dignity and respect. We believe that dignity and respect are essential for fostering understanding, trust, and harmonious relationships. Together, they affirm individual worth, promote empathy, and create a foundation for a just and compassionate society, where everyone is valued and treated with fairness and consideration.

Clean, Safe, and Secure

A clean, safe, and secure environment in our community is vital to ensure the well-being and highest quality of life for our residents. It promotes health, reduces risks of accidents, and provides a sense of comfort, fostering a conducive and enjoyable living experience during their senior years.

Location. Location. Location.

We are located adjacent to the banks of the Tennessee River, next to Rhodes Ferry Park. There are always wonderful sights to see, sitting benches, and walking trails just a few steps away.

No Hidden or Surprise Charges

Our goal is to make Riverside Senior Living “All-inclusive” living. There are never any “hidden charges.” Say goodbye to all the bills you are accustomed to paying. A resident’s monthly rent includes:

Price & Availability

We typically run at over 90% occupancy, and it is not uncommon that we have a waiting list. We have a variety of floor plans and apartment sizes that include studios, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and deluxe studios (larger studios).

Pricing is based on size and location and ranges from $2,500 to $3,500/monthly. A second person in the same apartment is an additional $600/month and includes their food/dining service. There is a one-time, non-refundable community fee ($1,295). Small pets are welcome. There is a non-refundable $750 fee for pets. Pricing is subject to change.

We do not require a long-term lease. All we ask is for a 30-day notice if you or your loved one decide to leave.

Meet The Riverside Senior Living Team

We believe that the key to our residents enjoying the highest possible quality of life in their senior years is fundamentally built by our staff.

Our team members are literally the “boots on the ground” and a very important part of the daily lives of our residents. There is very little staff turnover, and this is an important factor that allows us to create a senior community where our residents can thrive. Everyone on our team knows our residents by name. This is an important building block upon which we create our “extended family” environment.

You’ll notice our staff is always dressed professionally, pleasant, attentive, and caring with all of our residents.

Riverside Senior Living is really a family-oriented community like no other in Decatur, and something the owners make the highest priority.

Move Here STAY Here

Unlike other senior communities, Riverside Senior Living and Decatur Home Care, Inc. provide the environment and Adult Daily Living (ADL) support that allows our residents to remain here at Riverside Senior Living for the rest of their lives.

As the needs of our residents change, they are not forced to move out to another community/facility.

Moving is disruptive and stressful to seniors and their families. Once you or your loved one moves to Riverside Senior Living, YOU’LL NEVER HAVE TO MOVE AGAIN.

A second move means a strange environment, new faces, new staff, and general disruption of one’s life. These things often are confusing and contribute to decline.

When comparing other senior communities please ask about their forced discharged policies.

When Is the Right Time to Move?

Having worked with individuals and their families in the senior living and care marketplace for many years one of the biggest and most frequently asked questions we get is:

“When is the right time to move?”

Here are our thoughts based on our experience working with dozens of individuals and families.

Waiting often creates a lot of unnecessary challenges and difficulties.

The stronger and more mentally, physically, and emotionally fit one is the better. It makes a HUGE difference.

Unfortunately, we see individuals and their families wait too long before making the decision to move into a senior community.

We see too many people wait until the “last minute” or until it is too late, and then an already uncomfortable situation becomes a very difficult situation.

“Come Early, Come Strong, Be Alive & Thrive at Riverside Senior Living”

Moving at the Right Time…

  • Fosters a smoother transition
  • Allows time to make new friendships and relationships
  • Assimilates one more quickly and easily into the Riverside family
  • Contributes to a more positive overall experience
  • Supports better overall health
  • Supports a thriving QUALITY OF LIFE
  • Reduces stress in the long term

Moving Too Late…

  • Often creates stress and disharmony in family relations
  • Results in a more challenging overall situation
  • Often creates healthcare problems
  • Can lead to a more rapid mental and physical decline in seniors
